A NOTE TO MY BLOG LAND FRIENDS
To all my dear friends in bloggerland,
I will not be posting over the next week or so. I have been trying to give it the one two punch but my mind is elsewhere these days.
As most of you know my father is gravely ill and has now been hospitalized. The prognosis is not very uplifting so I will spare you the details. I'm leaving on Wednesday to spend a little time with him and my mom so we can reminisce a little about our crazy life together over the past 50 years (Okay, do not come back with any age jokes or I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN).
Not sure the exact date I will be back but I promise to pick up where I left off and will re-boot my funny bone as quickly as is possible.
I wish all of you well, and I know, even though the comments have been slim as a result of my sporadic posts, that many of you have stopped by on occasion just to check up on me--Thank You!!!!
Until the next post....
Jacqui

Best to you and yours. Obviously, this is important to do. Last year right at this time I made a similar journey. Very similar. I never regretted it and cherish the memory now very strongly. Pax tecum,
You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Jacqui. We'll be here for you when you return. I appreciate you making the time to come and contribute to my Commentathon; especially in the midst of all you're going through.
Good luck. I hope everything goes alright. Give your parents best wishes from all of us. :-)

I hope your father recovers soon and I wish you the best.
A huge heartfelt thank you to all my friends here. Knowing that so many of you sent prayers out into the universe makes my heart swell with gratitude that I have found all of you here in cyberspace.
My visit home still consumes my thought and fills my heart with such wonderful things. I had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time with my dad, talking late into the night about all the crazy things we'd gone through during the years and I'm amazed that he was able to love me as much as he does. I was a tough kid but they never threw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak. It most definately speaks well of their stamina, their heart, and their soul.
The vivid images of my week at home run rampant inside me. Watching my parents walk the corridor of the cancer clinic where my dad was undergoing radiation was breathtaking in a way. Like two frightened soldiers they walked towards the battleline five days in a row, their hands clasped tightly together to keep their fear at bay. The image of my mother stretching her other hand out behind her towards me, wiggling her fingers, waiting for me to put my hand in hers to add to their strength pool. It was sad, yet there was something so powerful in joining together like that. That single moment will forever stay in my heart. In times such as this there is definately strength in numbers and I feel blessed that I was given this opportunity.
As you know this is National Novel Writing Month in which one can write a 50,000 word novel in 31 days. My visit will be the subject of my first attempt at this crazy adventure. I need to put it into words because I am brimming with too many thoughts, too many images that are overflowing my emotional pool.
I look forward to visiting each of you in the weeks to come. I know I have a lot of catching up to do and am eternally grateful for your patience.
My best to all of you, thank you again for your prayers,
Jacqui
I have recently gone through this with my daughter who had a cancerous brain tumor. There was never a good outcome right from the moment the condition was diagnosed. I know just how much comfort you will derive from being together at this time. You will never forget a single moment of your final duty to a parent. Being there.
I had to scroll down to find where we'd left off. The additon of the photograph is excellent. Your follow-up comment is powerful, Jacqui. So pleased to hear the visit went so well for you. Will look forward to your visit. 8-) And an update on the novella.
